Managing future crises

Markets are Global, financial regulation is European and Banking crisis management remains national.

The European Commission is expected to adopt a legislative proposal on Crisis management and on a framework for Bank Recovery and resolution in September 2011. The proposal will then be discussed in the Council of Ministers (representing the Member States) and in the European Parliament.

In the European parliament, MEP GARCIA-MARGALLO (EPP) should be in charge of the report, with Elisa Ferreira MEP as shadow rapporteur, along with Ford (ECR) and
Klinz (ALDE).
